This is a good move. I think Cedeno gets sent down but I wouldn't be surprised to see Fontenot demoted to leave Patterson as a 2B. DFA Hill and bring up Soto please.

This is the Cubs we are talking about, we can never have enough 2nd basemen. Did we all forget last year we had the three headed monster of Hairston, Walker, and Theriot/Cedeno.

 

Side note: Remember last year when they wanted to switch Cedeno to 2nd base and they said he needed at least a week of infield and to break in his new glove. How come it didn't take that long for Fontenot or Theriot or DeRosa? Oh Dusty, how I do not miss thee!

Don't be so sure. He could do DeRo in in right and Jacque in left. After Soriano went down and Murton still didn't play, it became pretty clear he's just not going to get a chance no matter what.

Pie should have come up to begin with, however hes hardly the answer to our offensive struggles. A trade will be neccessary be it a Matt Stairs or Willy Mo, or if Hendry can coax Dunn or even Griffey out of Cincy.

 

As for the rest, it should go Soto up Hill down

as for teh rotation, give gallagher a few spot start, if hes good, send down Marsh and bring up Piggy or Rapada.

Adding Patterson, then optioning him after 2 days would show a real lack of any sort of plan, but it really wouldn't matter. If Eric isn't sticking in the bigs by '10, then he's not sticking.

Why? What's wrong with Marshall? You keep saying the Cubs should demote Sean Marshall but you won't say why - seeing as he's one of the best starters the Cubs have had this season, it seems ridiculous.

The more I have thought about it the more I think it is one of 3 possible things.

 

1. Patterson down

2. Cedeno down

3. ARam dl

 

I think both Pagan and Fontenot are safely on the team for now. Murton will not go down as long as Soriano is out. Hendry is way to conservative to move Jones with Soriano out, unless we were getting an OFer back, which then we wouldnt need Pie up
