I get chills on Opening day, playoff games the Cubs aren't even in, no hitters, a ton of things.

Didn't feel a thing there.

A black mark.

257 to go A-Rod.

I bet Bonds gets over 800 though

Wherever he ends up, I didn't mean 757 would be enough. Was just symbolic.

I honestly don't think he'll play another year. I think he'll play very sparingly from now on, and he'll announce he's retiring at years end just days before his last home game in San Francisco. He'll then go out with a huge, gaudy, overdone ceremony on the field, and that will be it.

Just my opinion on how things will play out.

Wouldn't suprise me in the least.

Good for Barry, that was kind of cool to watch.

People can defend the steroid use all they want, but I don't know how people defend the fact that he has absolutely zero interest in winning a baseball game. He left after he got his hit tonight when the game was 5-4. He left last night after the 7th when the score was 1-1. Does anyone in San Francisco actually care about, you know, winning?

I won't defend steroid use, but I won't condemn Bonds for it either (I will however condemn him for being a jack@$$), mainly because I was cheering for Sosa when he was hitting 60+ through those years. They have the same cloud over their heads. A lot of people are at fault for steroids becoming what they did in baseball, including major league baseball itself. Now they're being forced to deal with the problem they helped create.

I will applaud him tonight. Steroids or not, 756 is a lot of home runs, and he still had to hit the ball. In a few years, I might look at tonight a little differently though.

That's not the point. The point is that the roids prolonged his career long enough that he was able to reach this milestone.

I didn't watch it.

It means jack crap to me. It's not something I'll tell my son about.

He's a jerk. He's a cheater. I have no respect for the guy.

Good for him and his record.

I'll reiterate a point someone made earlier in this thread. None of the Nationals shook his hand. Felipe Lopez was standing there with his arms crossed at second.

So what?

The pitcher did tip his cap to him and a couple of random players, particularly in the dugout, were clapping, albeit meekly.

I just assume that 50% + of MLBers were on roids too, it's an even playing field.

So what?

Compared to all the Cubs infielders shaking McGwire's hand.

He'll end up a footnote in the baseball history books.

Stats alone, he is the best hitter in history. The steroids scandal will only make him more popular. There is no way he will be a footnote.

If only 50% are, how is that even?

It was probably closer to 80% at one time (note the "+") but that's just my opinion.

OK...again, what's the point? A lot of guys don't like Bonds. Doesn't change a damn thing.

Also, back in 1998, it was steroid hog heaven. Those guys could all revel in their mutual juicing. Now people feel obligated to maybe do what you're talking about to try and seperate themselves.

What makes you think it is 80% It is a possibility, but where is the evidence?
