Big match-up w/ Raw this week. I have to get a win!!!

17 IP, 3 ERs from my 2 starters. One was at the Cubs expense though. I'm up big early.

I replaced Beltran with Anderson, since Carlos is going in the DL.

I lead by almost 30 but have a 5-4 remaining pitching start disadvantage. So far a couple of my trading deadline acquisitions (Glavine and McGowan) have done better than many of the pitchers I had (in particular Jennings).

I'm not sure he's been converted into a reliever; he may have just pitched in that game as an emergency reliever (Bush pitched in relief for Milwaukee in the same game).

 

I believe what happens is that Juan takes away the points Sosa scored in relief, but that it doesn't count as one of your 7 starts.

I've activated Wood and put him in relief. I dropped Villanueva to make room.

 

I also activated Hughes and put him in the rotation to get my 7th start for the week.

A Braves fan friend of mine swears they are gonna win the division since they got Teixeira and Dotel. There's no way they are catching the Mets without another arm in the rotation. And I think they will have too many teams to catch in the wildcard. They have 24 games left with teams with better or equal records at this point in the season. And that's not including a 10-game road stretch against below .500 teams, 2 of whom are the Reds and Cards who have very respectable home records considering their seasons.
