Kerry Wood will make a rehab appearance for the Tenessee Smokies on Tuesday night at Pringles Park when the Smokies take on the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx. Wood will pitch 1-2 innings in what could be his final rehab appearance before getting back to the Cubs.

Even when the Cubs leave us, we STILL get great rehab appearances from Cubs big leaguers.. lol

Ain't that the truth. Now that I live in Illinois in the off-season, I am REALLY looking forward to seeing the Cubs in the stretch run in September.

It's a great place to see and broadcast a game. I just wish the knuckleheads that live in West Tennessee understood how fortunate they are to have a Double-A team.

I guss this would be as good as anytime to say this...I recently resigned from the Diamond Jaxx effctive at the end of the season. I'll be trying to find another job in baseball broadcasting, but if I don't.. I will be incredibly grateful for not only having had the opportunity to do this but to have done this for the Cubs organization for four years.

I can't wait to get back to Illinois after the Jaxx season is over and get into the pennant race with the rest of you fans.

are you feeling a bit like Harry Doyle at the beginning of Major League?

Ron Potesta: "Here come and the Diamond Jaxx and listen to this crowd!" (Cue Ron Potesta with crowd mic in hand waving it outside the broadcast window, hoping for sound)..

Potesta: Yes sir, they REALLY love their Diamond Jaxx here in Jackson.

I say we get about 1000 signatures on a letter of reference for Ron to carry around with him.

Anyone else game? :D

Vance should be good for about 945 of 'em.

Yea, it was pretty bad last year when we went.

Last night I was expecting to not be able to get seats anywhere near the dugout. But there we were right above the dugout steps. I bet there were less than 1000 people at the game.

I was kind of disapointed that Wood didn't stay for the end of the game or sign autographs. Then again, I don't know how appealing it is to sign for a 12 to 15 old men and 6 kids.

Maybe you can replace Bob Brenly next year if he gets a managerial job. :D
