Who here would trade Pie for Dunn straight up?

Reds44 said that he would not for Dunn and I'm riding the fence. It would be a big loss IMO if we couldn't sign Dunn long term. If we sign him long term then I'm OK with it, but with the ownership change I'm not confident that we could.

Agreed with that sentiment. We'd need to be confident we could resign Adam.

Quick question, is there any chance this means absolutely nothing? No callup, no trade, nothing? Because that seems hard to believe.

Barring the HIGHLY unlikely chance that both were injured, I would have to say no. This may be a very big night (or next day) for the cubs.

PS- If it's Tex, I'm going to cry.

Where would we play Tex? He's only a first base/DH right?

He's played right field.

When? (I didn't go past this year, but all his at bats were 1b and DH...not that I"m against it at all...just curious)

Played in 25 games in the OF in 2003, amd 7 in 2005. Also played some 3rd base in 2003.

He's one of the guys athletic enough I could see switching positions, unliek Glaus and Dunn.

Well I'm asking Levine...first on after the 10:20 update. I doubt he'll have a clue though.

Well, that was far from enlightening. But, good try and maybe they''ll have someone check on it.

Yeah, at least I got Levine to at least look at it. I wasn't really expecting much more, to be honest with you.

And yes, Chet really needs to shut up. I was on hold for 30 freaking minutes and they only took two calls before me.

last time he played RF was 2004, and it was for 7 games. He played 25 in the OF in 2003.

Well...that doesn't really lead me to believe he'll be a gold glover....especially wonder why Tex didn't stick him out there in front of Sammy....eh...if he can hit I'll take it...Jones still in Center with Tex's bat ...not a bad lineup.

Tex is a gold glove first baseman. They're not going to move him to accommodate an aging Sammy Sosa.

The Reds aren't going to trade Junior to us the day before we start a series against them.

This is interesting though, I'm eager to see what comes of it.

If they get Dunn, who plays RF. Soriano? Dunn would be brutal-er in RF than he is in LF.

Also, maybe Hendry held up on a trade for Dunn until tonight so Dunn got to play against Milwaukee. Dunn had a decent series and helped the Reds win 3 of 4.

Probably not.

It would have to be.

Either that or Soriano goes back to CF.
