Lou has managed a great game tonight. It will likely go unnoticed, but he has really done a solid job in the dugout thus far.

Yeah, I was a little dismayed with his handling of the bullpen earlier in the year but he has been pretty spot-on with his decision making lately. I have no complaints other than I wish I would have been more patient with him in the beginning.

A lot of people seem to be noticing in the last page or two.

But naturally the praise for a perceived well managed game is always drowned out by bad noise when the moves don't work.

Definitely happy to have Lou on our side.

Seems like he has gotten a better grasp on what he has to work with.

If I was Cubs manager, I would bring Pagan early for offense, and Floyd late for defense. It would catch the other team entirely off guard.

LaRussa would counter that by leaving Pujols on the bench in a crucial AB.

Ah the ultimate trump card.

Bring Pie back up so Sori will start hitting again.

That might be a great idea. I've always believed with Jones in CF, Soriano has more ground to cover in LF... and that might be a distraction.

To which I wouild counter by walking said hitter, forcing Larusa to pinch hit with Pujols.
