Well...if Kendall catches the pop up we never end up with Ohman walking people.

you could also say if Marshall didn't walk the lead off guy and give up a hit, it never would have gotten to Kendall.

But I know better to argue when a player already has his grave dug for him before he comes over.

come on. kendall didn't even realize the ball was still in play until too late. he should shoulder a lot of blame for today's loss.

i guess a 4 game winning streak is still solid

Not when it's ended by a game like this.

I think I might go out and kill a random dog.

great baseball teams lose 50+ games a year, even to crappy teams. i'll be worried if they play 2 games like this in a row.

Pitchers are going to occasionally walk and give up hits. Catchers should make the routine plays. Especially when they can't hit.

The people our pitchers have walked in the last two days is inexcusable.

It is officially OVAAA for the Cubs tonight. Book it.

Somebody was going to say it so I figured I'd try to be first.

I didn't see the pop-up. From what it sounds like, that WAS Kendall's fault. I was talking about earlier in the game.

So much overreaction in this thread.

But that's what game threads are for.

Kendall can't catch a pop-up.

Cubs keep walking free swingers.

WTH?

then let's be clear on routine, because I recall a month ago a worm burner bouncing out of Barrett's glove was not routine, but tonight a short hop that few catcher's in baseball come up with, allegedly six inches out of position or not, is suddenly routine.

Wow, what a depressing thread. I don't know about you guys but I was pretty sure the cubs were going to lose again sometime this year.

IMO, it wasn't exactly "routine", but an allegedly good defensive catcher should make that play...

We play the D-Backs right? They better suck as hard against us as they are against the Crew right now.

I don't expect the Cubs to win out but losing this game would bug me only because of how the Giants scored those 2 runs in the 8th. Go down on a screaming line drive not on the heels of a pitcher who is afraid of the strike zone. :?
