Baseball slugger Sammy Sosa took advantage of the All-Star Game break with a Las Vegas getaway.

The Texas Rangers designated hitter, who last month became only the fifth player to reach the 600 home run club, took a group of eight to Cirque du Soleil's production of The Beatles' "Love" show at The Mirage on Monday.

Fans quickly descended on Sosa at the end of the show, and he took the time to sign autographs and pose for photos.

In previous trips to Las Vegas, Sosa has gone by the alias of "Maximo Ali."

Not quite Ron Mexico, but that's pretty good.

dangit! I saw "Love" on Saturday... should have held out for a Monday showing.

Great show by the way!

I saw it on the first night and it was a disaster! They show stopped 4 times with tech problems.

It's gotten much better since then. For a while I kinda felt like I was inside John, Paul, George and Ringo's minds while they wrote some of the songs.

Well, if Roast ever wants to change his name, now he's got the perfect solution.

I was considering just shortening it to "roast"

But, Maximo Ali sounds like a great alternative.

Anyway, too bad I just changed my real name back in January, or i'd do it again!
