Probably pitchers Cubs will see:

Paul Maholm: 4-11, 4.74

Van Benshoten: 0-2, 4.35 in 4 games

Shane Youman: 1-0, 3.00 in 1 game. In that game, he gave up 8 hits in 6 innings, the other team only plated 2 of them though.

I can't get that afraid of that pitching staff. Except for last game, with the way the Cubs have been hitting, should be a nice finish to the first half of the season.

I'm not too worried. We have our top 3 pitchers (when they are on) going this weekend with Z going up against Youman. My goal is to keep pace with the Brewers this weekend. (2 out of 3 minimum)

I'm not afraid of those three pitchers, but they aren't laughably bad either, so they still have a decent chance of posting no-hitters, considering the Cubs' offense the last 16 innings. Also, the offense was consistently good against Brewers pitching that isn't exactly a joke, so I'm definitely not ready to mark down a series win for the Cubs over the weekend.

Barrett just hit an RBI double vs the Marlins.

Bowen's still way better.

I'm getting progressively more bitter about that trade. I was bummed the day I saw it on the headlines, and it's continuously pissing me off with each passing day.

And each passing out that sends Bowen's Cubs BA that much lower than .050

Who's Pitt's closer?

Well, today it appears to be Matt Capps.

I kept thinking that they were giving a nickname for Chris Capuano earlier in the series. They turned out not to be, and I cleaned the egg from my face.

It's been Matt Capps since June, when they put Salomon Torres on the DL.

A move by the way, for which he is filing a grievance as he thinks they are keeping him on there too long.

I miss Barrett.
