Given the season he's having and with Maggs and apparently Beltran available, I don't think you're going to get the return you're hoping for.

But I'll make a bid. :D

I've made offers for Bay, Maggs & Beltran using subsets of the same players. May the first one to take the trade win! :D

There is a hell of an offer out there right now for Maggs.. Anyone else that is willing to give up something of worth for him (future worth), make me an offer. Only 2 days remaining... :)

I'm suffering buyers remorse and my offer hasn't even been accepted yet!

Maybe it's just me, but I can't say I'm fond of people auctioning off players like this.

Maybe I'm in the minority on this, but to me it just doesn't seem right.

How is it different from what major league teams do at the deadline?

I'm just happy when someone responds to a trade. Even if it's rejected! LOL!

i don't have a problem with auctioning off players, but it's frustrating (as a buyer) to not know what i'm bidding against. in that way, it's not like the major leagues.

i could be offering way more than what everyone else has offered. or i may not make an offer, thinking that i couldn't compete with what's out there, and then when i see what it took i'm pissed.

i usually find it easiest to deal with guys in situations like this when they tell me what their other offers are.

It's too difficult for me to spell it all out on why I don't like it. Obviously, everyone wants a better return via trade than the player they are offering. To me, using NSBB and pimping the player and auctioning them off to the highest bidder just makes it seem unethical.

I guess I'm just more old school with making a trade proposal or having someone else offer a trade proposal and accepting or rejecting based on whether you are getting enough to trade a player.

Pimping them on NSBB and stating that the offers will need to be extremely impressive to beat other offers just doesn't sit right with me.

If I'm the only one who sees it this way, I'll just shut up.

I'd love to have Maggs on my team, but I'm not going to get into a bidding war for him. And I hope I don't have to get into a bidding war in the future for every other player who becomes available.

i guess i agree with you to some extent. i'm likely not going to be making any blind offers on a player in a set up like this. i at least want to hear a starting point from the seller.

i want to see the offers i'm competing with...i'm not going to be dragged into "i'm not going to tell you what this really great deal i've got on the table is, but let's just say it's going to be real hard to beat" situations. i'm not necessarily ethically opposed to it, i'm just not going to participate.
