Jun 10 Houston.Astros.MLB.com's Alyson Footer reports Houston Astros manager Phil Garner is ready to move Brad Lidge back to closer. However, he said the transition will not happen overnight. "I still believe that we're at our best if Lidge is doing what he's doing now, and Dan Wheeler and [Chad] Qualls and [Trever] Miller are all doing their things," Garner said. "[Wheeler's] disappointed, but I'm not so sure he's sure he's not disappointed in the way he's pitching. When I made this move [to use Wheeler as the closer], it was understood that if Lidge gets back on track, he goes back to his role."

Jun 10 It appears as though manager Phil Garner is ready to move Lidge back into the closer's role, the Astros' official site reports.

Recommendation: Lidge hasn't allowed a run in 10 consecutive appearances and Garner maintains that it was understood that he'd turn to his previous closer once he got back on track. That said, the move will not necessarily be an overnight one. "The key phrase here is I'm going to transition [Lidge] back. You may not see it for a few games," Garner said. In any case, if you are chasing saves, if Lidge is a free agent in your league, scoop him up.

I hope they play the Cardinals soon.

Why, so Pujols can go yard on him again? Hasn't he blown so many saves against them that he doesn't face the Cardinals?

Well, he's off to a stellar start after being thrown back into the closers role...

Yeah, no kidding... glad I dropped Wheeler and picked him up. What the hell is wrong with him? He gets movedo uto f the closer spot and dominates, they put him back in for one game and he screws it up.
