ahahahaha game over, another loss to a team with about one-third the payroll of our beloved cubs

Fire sale. And I mean complete fire sale. We've got to get this noose off our collective neck.

We can't do that. We passed out NTCs.

Eyre, Soriano, Marquis, Lilly... they might as well have NTCs, nobody is going to take on those contracts. From this point forward, the Cubs have to start developing some players from within and stop impulsively spending money to fill holes.

Uh, you mean like Patterson, Dubois, Kelton, Harvey, etc.? We simply have bad people making poor personnel decisions who have no real clue how to develop a farm system and how to properly fill holes with right players. Why some people were okay with firing Baker and keeping Hendry is beyond me.

When did Dusty Baker take this team over again?

The common thread is Jim Hendry, the worst GM in the history of professional sports.

No but at some point the Brewers will quit sucking again.

When do they play the Cubs?

At this point I am thinking trade DLEE for Micahel Bowden, Clay Buccholz, and Jacoby Ellsbury. Aramis for Brandon Wood and ESantana. Just reload this mess.

The 81% are like the ones who cheer every time the Cubs hit a fly ball.

I remember when I went to my first couple Cubs games, every fly ball looked like a HR...

I gave up on blaming Baker about a month ago. These players and the GM are the reason this team sucks. Baker won everywhere he managed until this godforesaken team.

Our curse is a fat arsed GM and horrible ownership, not a goat or a toothpick eating manager. All I look forward to is someone buying this team that cares about winning and gets competent people to run the show.

I think its actually pretty soon. They'll get healthy against us and it will be adios muchachos, if it isn't over by the time the series begins anyway.

This club is as dead as dead can be. I've never seen such a soul-less team.

Yup. As Moneyball said once, you can't teach patience.

I feel your frustration, but he's not worst than Matt Millen or Isaiah Thomas. Man, I wonder what the Cubs would be like had they not forced Dallas Green out (yes, my surname).

yeah that's the point... stop developing scrubs (note the common thread with those guys - horrible plate discipline) and actually get a minor league system that contributes talent onto the major league squad. Look at the team that's playing tonight, most of the players came from within or in trades for talent they developed (Beckett, Pierre)

Our guys are the ones who will pass on Wieters in about a week.

Well, time to bail on this bozo act and play some Oblivion. No sense ruining my entire night on this stupidity.

Night.

If the Knicks replaced Thomas with Hendry, their franchise would collapse on itself like a black hole and cease to exist.

It all begins with the GM. He loves "toolsy" players and his scouts love "toolsy" players. How a guy like Theriot is on the team is by pure accident.

The two are equally bad. Both spend big money on the wrong players and somehow manage to get extensions after mediocre seasons and extensions in the middle or beginning of the season when things are going good.

Are you sure about that ?They may be taking different routes, but their ending up at the same place.
