Steve Stone on the Score today made the point about prospects in the Cubs system not being taught the basics. It was in response to a quote by Piniella. But the thing is, the everyday players on this team for the most part did not come from this system. Why do they continue to fail in these situations? OK, I guess you can insert the obligatory bash Hendry answer here.

 

Steve Stone is a very smart man. That and Jim Hendry is a complete idiot.

 

Steve Stone is the reason we choked down the stretch in 2004. Just ask Dusty Baker and Kent Mercker.

 

Nice to see that Stone is still in Chicago while those two are (pretty much) out of baseball completely.

 

I wish Stone was still in the booth along with Chip.

 

I wonder if the new owners will keep Len and Bob or go with a new announcing team...could we see the return of Stoney?
