Look, I want Murton to play as much as anyone, but he's really doing his best to argue his way out of his starts. I know he's young, but come on...how does someone regress THAT much?

He had a nice game yesterday when he got the start.

So why does he forget to how to hit when he comes off the bench? And what about the starts where he's done nothing? I understand he's in a crappy spot, but hey, these are supposed to be pros...if it's "mental," suck it up.

Frank Thomas said it took him years to adjust from not playing in the field to just grabbing a bat and walking to the plate. If the "right-handed Ted Williams" has trouble with it, I can't imagine it would somehow be easier for Murton.

Marquis with the ND, gotta love being in the Cubs rotation baby.

Wins for pitchers are highly over rated IMO, as long as the team wins I don't care which pitcher gets credit for it and neither should they.

Some how we're alone in 2nd place. The NL Central is terrible.

The main reason any concession of the season is ridiculous. We're gonna be in this thing the whole way, whether it's deserved or not.

where were you when Murton was 2-3 with a walk yesterday? give me a break

I know he's had a few games this year, but he's had a bunch of really crappy starts, and he seems completey useless coming off the bench.

Why must this be debated every time its mentioned. He got the ND for a game it would be nice to have gotten him a win for, simple as that.

He actually has been better pinch-hitting than anything: 3 for 11 with 1 BB, .272/.333/.636

All his other at-bats .284/.341/.333

That 3-run homer all of a sudden made his pinch hitting #'s look good.

I don't think it has to be debated. It's common sense that wins are a team stat, and that starting pitchers only have a fraction of the control over them.

It's the most overrated stat in the game.

Yeah, I was about to mention that-it actually made all of his numbers look better. That 1 HR is the only difference between Murton and Izturis's numbers so far this year.

And no has said to the contrary. Why must it be mentioned every time?
