Lou's not going to make it past the ASB.

I think you're right.

That Yankee job is looking mighty fine right now. I can almost promise he's going there next year.

how did howry ever get this far with a straight 92 mph fastball and nothing more?

The game thread attackers are back. Howry hasn't given up an earned run since mid April before today, he's far from awful.

But he was awful today...

BS. I don't care what his line says, Howry's been shaky as hell every time I've seen him this year.

Don't give me this crap. You've all been watching the games. Howry barely escapes with his life every time he goes out there. He's total junk.

Its not crap, his line is what matters in most cases. He's sucked today, but he's far from terrible.

I realize its mostly game thread rantings, but have some perspective.

How many runs have scored when Howry's been in the game? Relief pitchers aren't just brought in to make sure they don't give up runs except those already on base, you know. They're expected to hold runners who they inherit, as well.

Look, I was just on a game thread a few days back going over this same thing, and Howry was sucking again. The argument was exactly the same. "He sucks today, but he's been good."

So how many times does he get to use that excuse? I'd just like to know. Because seriously, every single time I see him he struggles like hell. Every single time.

In regards to continuing to manage the team or his life?

If he stays a Cub his life.

Yeah, he's officially the toughest guy in all of baseball. Personally I was waiting for him to punch him since that was the most unnecessary collision ever. If he slides he's clearly safe since that side of the plate wasn't blocked.

Quiet down with that...you'll start the speculation threads. I can see it already, "Lou, Shizturis, JJ, Eyre and Cedeno for A-Rod."

Well, more than twice at least.

Fake rally time.

I love the fake rally...

That was in the 7th. The rules state that the Cubs are only entitled to one fake rally per game, and only on days when they feel like it.

Actually that was a real rally in the 7th...

No. The 2007 Chicago Cubs are filled with many fake rallies.

It would be just our luck to suffer a major injury because of the rain.

BTW, HOORAY for other teams hitting season highs against us. That's always fun.

I think it should be ruled a fake rally since the team gave up 6 runs in the bottom of the inning. It was just there to get our hopes up.
