I think the next few weeks are going to tell us a lot about how good this team actually is. With games against good teams like the Phils, Mets, and Sox, and a west coast trip against two of the better teams in that division I think the Cubs will make a statement. I don't know if it will be a positive statement or a negative one, but either way it will tell a good deal about the rest of the season. If the Cubs can finish out May with an 11-8 mark that would be fantastic. Let's see what your made of Cubbies.

Losing the series to the Pirates at home with your "ace" dropping the rubber game isn't a good way to go into that stretch.

You're right though, when the calender flipped to May, these next few weeks jumped out as being very important. This also happens to be about the same time last year when the bottom officially fell out. I think what we get from here to the end of the month is going to do a lot to set the tone for the rest of the season.

Brewers have the same brutal schedule with games @NYM, @PHI, @SD, @LAD and vs Minn, vs Atl.

This next 20 days could completely change the look of the central.

or the brewers could enter June with a 15 game lead

That would still change the look of the central :). The results could be anywhere from a Brewer collapse to them running away with the division but it will say a lot about both teams whatever happens.

Cubs have a stretch of games where they need to play well? I think I've seen that movie and I'm quite familiar with the ending.

It's like watching It's a Wonderful Life and maybe this time Uncle Billy won't accidently give the money to old man Potter. You want it to happen but you know it won't.

I liken it more to Groundhog Day only Bill Murry never gets Andy McDowell and Chris Elliot ends up GMing for the Cubs.

Seriously though, why hasn't Chris Elliot established himself for the comedic genius he is?

Are you kidding? On a rainy summer day in high school when I was off work, I tried watching it with three friends, and it was so remarkably unfunny that we just went downstairs and played Sega. It's honestly the worst movie I have ever seen.

Haha, different strokes I suppose, I love it. I play it a lot though when I want to go to sleep though so I easily see the other side of the fence.
