the Barret/Murton switch was the only one I had trouble with...unless he's actively trying to make a statement to Jones, him batting 8th has to mean no Isturiz as well (which is a good thing)...and likely no Pie...not as good,

Because our only other option in CF, Pie, is also left-handed.

Jones sucks, and has always sucked, against lefties. I don't know Pie's minor league splits against lefties, but even if they're awful as well, he can't sit every time the Cubs face a lefty if the Cubs expect him to be what he's touted to be. So they might as well let him play tonight and get some experience.

Well, I've been for sending Pie down or shipping out one of our OFers for some time, so I don't understand it either.

 

Pie needs to play every day somewhere. He has plenty to work on and it isn't getting done while he's picking splinters out of his backside. Either ship one of Jones/Murton/Floyd out, or send Pie to Iowa.

 

He shouldn't have been brought up in the first place.

 

If you think Jacque can't hit lefties, wait till you see how hopeless Pie is against them. He can't even hit them in the DWL.

Jacque can't hit lefties consistently but he has gotten some hits against LHP. I wouldn't start Pie against a ML lefty at this point.
