BOSTON (AP) - Forty-one years after he retired from baseball, Hall of Fame pitcher Sandy Koufax was the final player chosen in the draft to stock the six teams for the inaugural season of the Israel Baseball League.

"It's been 41 years between starts for him. If he's rested and ready to take the mound again, we want him on our team."

Hey, Israel Baseball League, I'm better than Sandy Koufax. Never mind, I forgot he's a lefty.

Koufax is Jewish though, are you?

Cant have enough proven veterans

He also retired relatively early due to arthritis (lost to the Orioles in the '66 WS). . . has he had enough time to recover from this condition??? Does that mean there's hope that Prior/Wood can come back given enough time?

Nice publicity stunt. Reminds me of a 69-year old Gordie Howe suiting up for one game with the IHL Detroit Vipers in 1997.

That was pretty awesome.
