McGehee Hurt: The Cubs scratched third baseman Casey McGehee from the starting lineup after he got hit in the face with a batted ball during batting practice.

He suffered a mild concussion, had six stitches and will miss two games.

First Roster Move: The Cubs sent reliever Jon Mueller from Tennessee to Daytona in the Class A Florida State League on Sunday. The Smokies received pitcher Geoffrey Jones from extended spring training.

Mueller made three appearances for the Smokies and pitched 31/3 scoreless innings.

Jones should be familiar to Smokies' fans. He spent eight years in San Diego's farm system, including the past three with the Mobile BayBears.

The 27-year-old left-hander from Dolores, Colo., was 1-1 with a 4.26 ERA for the BayBears in 53 appearances last season and averaged nearly a strikeout per inning.

Hope to see Marmol continue to tear up the PCL tonight. What I like most about his year so far: only 2 walks. He was tough to hit last year in the bigs, it was the walks that hurt him.

So who gets first dibs on the #5 starter spot if we decide to scrap Miller; Marmol or Guzman?

I'd probably say Guzman just because he's had success with the big league team to this point.

But if Marmol continues to pitch the way he does, he'll make it interesting.

He's hit 3 batters? dang! Wonder what the deal is with that. Well at least he only has 1 walk. What pitches does Marmol throw? I cant remember

Iowa ended up winning 7-2. Marmol's line: 7 innings, 3 hits, 1 run, 8 Ks/2 BBs, 3 HBPs on 94 pitches. Baez gave up a run in 1/3 of an inning. Cherry got the save working an inning and a third and striking out two of the four batters he faced.

Every Iowa position player reached base except Machado, who had a sac fly. Buck Coats was 3/4 and Rojas and Hill were each 2/4.

Veal was cruising along for the first three innings. The fourth inning was a disaster though. 4 IP, 5 hits, 3 runs, 3 Ks/1 BB. Ugh. 3-0 Chattanooga after 4.

Daytona is tied at 1 in the bottom of the 6th. Matulia had an RBI single to tie it in the top of the 6th. Blackford finished with 4 and 2/3s, 3 hits, 1 run, 3 Ks/1 BB.

Ugh, second time this season he's had major issues with the fourth inning after getting by the first three with limited damage.
