Ugh, Cherry just blew the save for Iowa and is now in line for the L if Iowa doesn't tie it in the bottom of the 9th. 1 IP, 2 hits, 2 runs, 1 K/0 BB.

Well, that's a little discouraging.

Iowa tied it up, off to extra innings we go!

Rapada gave up a leadoff homer to start the 10th :(

In more ways than one, since that suggests he isn't being called up by the Cubs tomorrow. They desperately need another bullpen arm after being taxed so much today.

Les Walrond goes tomorrow, but hes not on the 40 man. He may get called up. Carlos Marmol would be one day short on rest if he pitched tomorrow, but he's on the 40 man so he could also get a look

Since Walrond isn't on the 40-man roster the Cubs would need to drop somebody from the 40-man to make room for him (or place Wood on the 60-day DL if they think he'll be out that long anyway). Since Marmol is alreadyon the 40-man they'd only need to create a spot on the 25-man, which they could do by optioning Cedeno or making some type of move with Ohman.

SP M. Holliman 7 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 3/2 K/BB, 10-8 GO-FO

My Dawg!

What is the scoop on Holliman? I remember the Cubs drafting him, but don't remember the scouting report. Is he a guy that relies on control?

FB around 88-91 mph (90-92 mph when he was in college), good curve, slider and change. Last season he started out real strong too but really tailed off in July and August.

Still think he's a reliever?

Hehehe, let's see how he holds up in the second half this season and if his velo has bounced back.

He's started this season much better than last season, though.
