I really think the torch might have been passed to him. Santana just may not be the best pitcher in baseball anymore. This is Kerry Wood 1998 without the 20Ks and a lot more command and a lot more groundballs.

Are you calling Felix Hernandez nameless? Have you been following baseball the last couple of years? I can't bring his minor league stats up right away, but he's been dominant at all levels of pro ball, except for the first half of last year.

youre ruining it.

Go to the Game Thread forum, i've already taken care of that :D

This isn't about that. This is about who are the best pitchers in the game. Is it Nameless, it just might be.

Come on now. Santana has obliterated the league for three years running. You think that the torch is passed after two starts? As great as he is, he's got a long way to go. Consistency is everything.

And don't get me wrong: I recognize this kid's potential... but...

Also: he will have the arm troubles of Kerry Wood if they continue to tax his 21-year-old arm with 100 pitches every fifth day...

Oh, I've been through the desert on a horse with no name...

I always liked America.

Really? I was born in 1984.

If I'm not mistaken, I do believe that the Mariner's have kept him on a short leash the past two years and not allowed him to pitch any more than a max of 90 pitches per game during that span, as well as monitoring his pitch selection.

Not they've unleashed him, and look what they get. Johan Santana incarnate, except he's like 5-6 years younger.

I agree with you KyHen. When Felix Hernandez can win multiple Cy Young Awards (which he does have the ability to do) like Santana (and I presume Santana will win it again this yr) nobody can make a case of Felix Hernandez passing Johan Santana. NOBODY.

Now if people are talking about Hernandez passing Erwin Santana (who's is nice young stud in the making) I could agree with that statement, but Johan....NOPE...Felix HAS A LONG WAYS TO GO before he surpasses Johan.

And from a fantasy standpoint: Who would you rather pick in the first rd of the draft; Johan Santana or Felix Hernandez?
