I was browsing the local newspaper today and saw that Mr Dascenzo is managing the Fort Wayne Wizards this season. Interesting blast from the past there. The true utility man, he even pitched in relief a couple times I believe.

The Wizards are the Class A affiliate for the Padres and play in the Midwest League so I'm planning on checking out a game when Peoria comes to town at the very least. Ryno vs Dascenzo, the dream managerial matchup!

LOL yeah I remember Doug, he had a 0.00 era for a while and showed up at pitchers meetings. I think that was back when Treblehorn was the manager though it could have been further back.

Actually his career pitching ERA was 0.00 (5 innings in 4 appearances).

Anyone else remember the time Dibble lost his mind and threw at Doug while he was running to 1st?

I think it might have been Dibble's first game back from a suspension, but I remember. happened in the late innings. Dibble couldn't find the zone, Cubs rallied, and I think Doug bunted, or hit a chopper up the first base line. weird thing was, Dibble could have gotten an out on the play, but chose to throw the ball at Doug instead. probable roid rage incident.
