Does Bill Murray really have the upwards of $650 million to purchase the team?
I think he would be head of an investment group, not an individual owner.

Only $650 million? I thought I had seen $750 million-$1 billion being mentioned somewhere.

Cuban right now is easily my first choice.

I would pay just to watch him jump out of a suite, slide down the netting behind home plate, and start chewing out an ump for a bad call....and I can totally see him doing it too.

Don Levin. What he's done with the Wolves is amazing. He's be an owner that would really care about the product without having to worry about an investment group.

Yes, I'm glad someone agrees with me.

Not being in Chicago, I'm not as familiar with Levin as some of you are. I'd still like Cuban. My guess is Cuban would be progressive in the front office. He'd provide amenities for the players and make Chicago a place they would like to play.

Have you ever seen the Mavs' lockerroom? I wish that I had a home entertainment center as good as each player does.

That's part of what I was referring to. Cuban makes sure the players are taken care of. He would be a first class owner and the Cubs would be a first class organization.

I don't think he'd cut corners and with him at the helm, I think we would be perennial winners.

Really think it is going to be Wrigley Corp coming in again.

After Selig read Fitzsimons the riot act on Tuesday, no way Cuban gets to come in now. Selig and Dupay both have said they are going to be heavily involved in the vetting process of one of the marquis teams in the league.

With the problems Cuban has caused in the NBA (for better or for worse, b/c lets face it, no one likes what the NBA is now), no way does Selig and Dupay sign off on it....no way.

Seriously doubt Cuban could raise the cash needed now also w/o getting a group together. Foxsports is saying what i have been saying, with the 25% stake in comcast sports channel up, its going to be 800 to 900 million total. If Wrigley comes back, they will want the stadium too which Zell may be shopping seperately, so then you are easily talking the $1b.

The more I read about Don Levin, the more I like him. I wouldn't mind him owning the team at all.
