Matt Murton-OF-Cubs Mar. 28 - 8:47 pm et

Matt Murton will hit second behind Alfonso Soriano in the Cubs' Opening Day lineup Monday against Aaron Harang and the Reds.

He'll be followed by Derrek Lee, Aramis Ramirez, Jacque Jones, Michael Barrett, Mark DeRosa, Cesar Izturis and Carlos Zambrano. Murton isn't locked into the second spot in the lineup, but he should hit there quite a bit in the early going. The only disappointment here is that Zambrano won't hit ahead of Izturis.

My favorite part in bold.

Beat me to it. Great Slam by Rotoworld

Kind of difficult when he's starting the year in Iowa.

The lineup alone already says volumes about what type of manager Lou is going to be this season.

I'm not sure whether the lineup "says volumes about what type of manager Lou is going to be" or whether it says volumes on what king of manager we had here the last few years.

Maybe I am not the first to say this, but i for one, want to put my support in Izzy's corner. THe guy got hurt at a very bad time in his career. He was coming into his own and players mature--just a fact. I told this story last fall--I havppened to see Phil Nevin out at The Lodge after a game last summer and he spoke so highly of Izturis that it really caught my attention. I just really think he is going to be good for us this year--I guess we will just all have to wait and see but I truly dont believe he deserves all the negatives that he has received before he has ever played and healthy and meaningful game for the cubs. Let's wait and see before we crucify him!
