According to rotoworld, the Cubs have sent O'Malley, Pignatello, Hoffpauir, McGhee, Soto, and Fox back to minor league camp.

I enjoyed watching Fox bat....that guy is a beast. Too bad he sucks as a catcher. I have no doubt he could learn SS and take Izturis' place.

It happens especially for split-squad games. I'm not sure how many of them there are left this spring.

If the organization really doesn't think Fox will ever be a major league catcher, they need to give him a shot at another position. I would actually prefer Fox to Blanco on the roster. I don't think his defense would be a huge liability as a spot starter for Barrett, and he brings so much more to the table as far as a bat off the bench.

IIRC, Fox played LF in one of the Spring games (it was only an inning or two). It may be something they consider in the future.

He played 3 games in LF at West Tenn last summer too (all after the Jaxx were eliminated).
