He's on WFAN talking to Mike and the Mad Dog, and he's more than willing to talk about Pavano, ARod and others. He's taking shots at some guys' ability to play in New York and play in big games, including Randy Johnson, who has won more big games than Mussina ever has. I can't believe a guy like this, who has been so underwhelming and a big part of the post-championship "downfall" of the dynasty, is so willing to say what he's saying about ARod and others. He's really critical of other people's mental "weaknesses".

Mussina got the L and gave up 4 runs to the Detroit Tigers in the playoffs last year. THE Detroit Tigers. I dont think he's ever pitched in the world series.

He has always seemed to be able to skim by the criticism from the press and fans and I don't know why. Maybe people think he's smart...didn't he go to Stanford?....so they don't want to challenge him.

He pitched in the 2001 and 2003 World Series' but has never won one.

I've always found it funny that the two guys that symbolized the Yankees movement away from the homemade dynasty, Mussina and Giambi, have avoided bad press nearly as well as Jeter.

The media and fans have targeted ARod, Knoblauch, Soriano, Brown, Vazquez, Johnson, Pavano and Wright, in the post 2000 era. But the two biggest money free agents they've signed have been relatively immune.

I wonder if it has anything to do with how accessible they are to the press.

I think it's awesome. Let the Yankees continue to eat themselves alive. I'm ready to pop a bottle of champagne and celebrate.

Every season that goes by without a Yankees World Series is a blessing.

Randy Johnson, 2001 World Series: 17 1/3 IP, 9H, 3BB, 19SO, 1.04ERA, and 2 "clutch" wins (one in a must-win Game 6, and one to spell Schilling for 2 innings in Game 7)

Mike Mussina, 2001 World Series: 11IP, 11H, 4BB, 14SO, 4.09ERA, no "clutch" wins

Granted, none of Johnson's WS wins came in New York, so maybe Mussina has a point.........

This is funny, if he'd posted stuff like that on NSBB, he'd be called out for not checking his facts before posting. Mussina doesn't have much of a leg to stand on here. He's probably just trying to win points with the fans so they continue to not notice how decidedly mediocre his stint with the Yanks has been.
