Wood should be a cy young candidate this year. helping his hall of fame chances.

my prediction

Wood

24-2, 2.32 ERA, 300k's

Prior

27-2, 1.11 ERA, 240K's

book it, cubs rule

24 wins from Wood out of the bullpen. That's impressive.

I'm more impressed with the 300 K's in less than 100 innings from the pen. I've seen Kerry strike out 4 in an inning a couple of times, but he'll have to do it quite a bit to hit those numbers!

In order to get 24 wins out of the bullpen, just imagine the number of blown saves he'd have.

Hey you never know, he might strike out the side every inning he's out there.

but only have allowed 25 or so runs total. So the cubs offense must have really sucked and left a lot of one run leads.

thats it! the cubs offense must have really sucked so he came in in tied games and when we were up by a run. hed let them tie the game whenever they were up and hit a game winning HR the next inning. HEd just hit the homer in the tied games

That's why his ERA will be "only" 2.32 as compared to Prior's 1.11. He'll blow a bunch of saves with all of the wild pitches he throws where the batter strikes out but reaches first. That's how he'll have so many strikeouts, because he'll keep throwing them away and the batters will keep reaching first. :D

From the fantasy section of MLB.com:

Kerry Wood, who had been sidelined with a bruise after falling out of a hot tub, threw 10 pitches off a mound.

According to Cubs pitching coach Larry Rothschild, Wood looked good. "It was only 10 pitches, but the fact that he's on his legs tells me that he feels good arm-wise," Rothschild said. "When the injury [with his right shoulder] started cropping up, he didn't use his legs at all because he didn't want to create arm speed and cause problems. You could tell he's done a lot of

10 pitches? Well...It's a start.
