In Christina Kahrl's chat on BP, she said that apparently the draft is being slowed down to about five minutes per pick in the first round. No details on whether that applies to the supplemental first round and beyond, though...

Too bad it's running at the same time as the revolution

I thought the revolution would not be televised...

I won't because I'll be driving - might be a good thing if I don't hear what the Cubs do until I get home as I might have a fit of road rage.

Someone is going to have to text me, because I'll be out apartment hunting all day.

Who wants the job?

i have a feeling the broadcast will be pretty bad. First time they've done it, and the MLB draft just doesn't seem that TV friendly to me. I'll at least watch to pick number 3.

I know Callis and others will probably be at the ESPN Zone in Chicago - it'll be interesting for sure. I'm still not sure what you can "see" even if everyone will actually be gathered at a physical location instead of using technology to make picks. I've got it TiVo'd and I'm having someone text me (though I'm wary - I might rather read on here that the Cubs drafted Doolittle than get the news via text message).

Oh really? I might have to go check that out. I was just at the ESPN Zone yesterday.

the live broadcast isn't going to slow the draft down, is it? The NFL draft is nearly unbearable to watch

It'll slow down the MLB draft for sure, but they'll get the 50 rounds done in two days like in the past. The MLB draft used to be so fast that I don't think slowing it down for TV will be a big deal.

I also need a text message... I'm on the road in Atlanta and probably won't have access to the internet all day. Who wants to be a pal?

Just remember for whoever agrees to send Truffle this text message that you are very likely to get a very angry text message back decrying the high school player that was taken :D
