NFLDraftCountdown has the Bears drafting Dwayne Jarrett, Ben Grubbs OG Auburn, and Justin Durant OLB Hampton.

I would be please if this actually happened.

I absolutely love Durant. He could be a great pick in the 3rd round. I'd be very happy with that draft. WR isn't the biggest need, but if Jarrett is around at 31, there's a good chance he's the best player on the board at that point. And WR will become a need position after 2007. Moose is on his way out. Berrian could be a FA. Bradley hasn't been healthy or good enough.

That draft would be near perfect for me. Get a top 5 WR. Get the best pure guard in the draft and my #1 sleeper at OLB.

Wow I thought Jarrett was projected a lot higher...I didn't think he'd be there at 31. Is his value dropping?

I heard he runs a 4.6-4.7 40.

Irregardless(espcecially with Hester moving to WR) there is 0 need for WR.

There's no need with Bradley and Hester who are still learning/have to learn the position, an aging Moose who has been tailing off in years past and then Bernard Berrian? I'm not all for spending a 1st rounder on a WR, but you have to bring in some bodies who fit into the team at that position.

The only thing holding back Bradley is some injuries, Berrian is on the verge of stardom.

Umm...did I miss something? When was that decided?

Nonetheless, one of those picks, Devin Hester, made the Pro Bowl as a returner. He will, by the way, likely be an offensive player in 2007
.

He didn't say WR though, just offensive player. Maybe Hester fills the need at TE or OG instead.

Im big on Berrian too, he's not a willie gault.

The Bears must not have that much regard for Ian Scott. I say this because all the teams that are interested in Scott and the ones he is visiting arent for a starting job like many suspected at the onset of FA. If the Vikings are interested then he must not be getting starting money. IF he's not getting starters money why arent the Bears players?

Hester: If the Bears can turn Azumah into a serviceable CB they can do the same to Hester. Hester was back and forth between WR and CB in Miami and they couldnt make up their mind, thats why the Bears stuck with him at CB to finally get him settled down at one position. I see Hester on offense more like a Reggie Bush type player than a predominate WR; change of pace RB with the ability to go wide or in the slot and run routes. He's a crazy football talent no doubt.

Or QB. He could be the next Kordell Stewart. And really, who wouldn't want to be that?

The Bears may not "need" a WR, but if Dwayne Jarrett is on the board at 31, they should definitely take him. He's a big, talented possession receiver and a playmaker...you can never have to many of those

Matt Millen, is that you?

the difference is, the Bears don't have the glaring holes that the Lions had...and I think the Bears can fill their needs in the later rounds with solid players

Mr. Suck Ass himself Justin Gage is off to play for Tennessee.

Buh Bye.

see, the Bears DO need a WR now

Ah Tennessee, where really bad Bears WRs go to still suck.

Hey now, this is no endorsement of Gage, but Bobby Wade played quite well for us. I was strongly hoping he'd come back.

But, of course, like everything else this offseason, it made sense to do it so Reinfeldt didn't do it.

In 2005 Bobby Wade had 10 fumbles in about 40 offensive/special teams touches.

Thats nearly 1 fumble every 4 touches.

The Redskins and Adam Archuleta's agent, Gary Wichard, are exploring ways to either release him without taking a big salary cap hit or trade him, sources said.

I think AA would be much better in the Bears D, I hope they pursue this.

Not for anywhere near the cash the Redskins paid.

Allowing Snyder to vastly overpay for Archuleta was a fantastic Angelo move last offseason.

Exactly.

Last year for the Titans, he had 33 catches for 461 yards - a 14 yard per catch average.

Come on now, I wasn't saying that. Just saying that he was solid for us as a third receiver and I would have liked to see him back.

Boone goes to the Chiefs. Fatty is getting paid.

Chiefs agreed to terms with DT Alfonso Boone, formerly of the Bears, on a four-year contract worth $7.2 million, including $1.5 million guaranteed.

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports the Redskins are working on a new deal for Adam Archuleta in hopes of trading him later this offseason.

Schefter calls Chicago a likely landing spot, as Lovie Smith ran St. Louis' defense when Arch appeared to be a player on the rise. The Bears also need insurance for Mike Brown, who's recovering from a Lisfranc injury. Mar. 19
