According to the Schedule on Cubs.com, there are numerous Saturday starts listed at 2:55. What's the deal with that? My only guess is that those are TBS games... (I think TBS is doing some Sat games this yr)

Anyone know the deal?

TBS, unless they've got a new contract with MLB or something this year, only does Braves game. They're to the Braves what WGN is to the Cubs.

My best guess is those 2:55 games are the second half of a Fox Saturday double header...

TBS is picking up more national games this year.

TBS has gone national now..right?? I believe that Fox ESPN and TBS contracted with MLB to televise games on Sat, Sun, Mon, Wed, and I think Tue for TBS. They are no longer exclusively an Atlanta Braves channel.

Also, the neighborhood made them get rid of starts after 3:00 PM in order to get more night games, so the Cubs decided to give it to them in the rear by moving the starts from 3:05 to 2:55. Good for the Cubs, I live in the neigborhood and some of the people who whine are real D-bags. Viva los osos!

Wrong, wrong and wrong.

2:55 starts are Fox games and NOT the second half of a TV DH of games. Fox changed the start time from 12:25 to 2:55. Therefore in order to telecast locally, all games on Saturday afternoon that are non Fox broadcasts must have a first pitch by 12:09 PM or they cannot telecast. Don't believe me...see what happens with the first weekend game in Milwaukee when the broadcast schedule comes out unless the Brewers change the time of the first pitch. There will be NO TV.

The neighbors had nothing to do with Saturday start times. The team phased out 2:05 starts on Fridays in exchange for more night games. If you notice, there are no more 2:05 starts on Friday.

It was 2:20, not 2:05. Just sayin'
