I think this time was a rarity since there've been a spate of new NL parks compared to the AL and Bud wanted to get them all All-Star games as soon as possible.

 

I've never understood that line of thinking. The All-Star game should be held in the best stadiums, not just throwing them all around at whoever builds a new one.

 

As for Wrigley, it last hosted one in 1990. It's gonna be at least another decade before it comes back, methinks.

Just announce plans for a new stadium, have MLB give the 2013 (AZ should get 2011) game to Wrigley. Then after the game scrap the new ballpark plans because of "public outcry"

In addition to the host cities already planned, I figure Cincinnati and new parks for the A's and Nationals would see it before Wrigley.

As much as I am NOT a fan of the new Busch, I am thankful for 2009 and the fact that I live in Saint Louis. Seems like a long time but you wonder what players will be coming from what team by then.

I would imagine the ASG would be at the K sometime in 2014-2016, once the renovations gets completed, which the target date would be in 2010.
