  1. Is it funny to anyone else the Corey Patterson is still hitting bloopers?? And a tad bit ironic too.
  2. There are sports writers and analysts who love Tony in St. Louis and there are those who are not so fond (basically what you find in every city with a professional team who has lost more than one game). I think it will be interesting here to see who massacres him for this and those that make excuses (we already know one for that list). Knowing Bernie personally, I have to say I am a bit surprised by his post. On the other hand I am also well aware of two other radio personalities that strongly disagree with Bernie but dont have a column or a newspaper writing contract to voice their opinions. When it comes down to it. Look at the facts. Tony over legal limit--FACT (.08 is the legal limit RIGHT NOW). Tony asleep with the car on AND his foot on the brake (most states you only need to have your keys in the ignition to get a DUI)--FACT. Tony arrested for DUI--FACT. I feel for Tony in the sense that if he was in St. Louis he probably would have drove home with no DUI. (See any of three of Leonard Little's DWI offenses--not even close to the caliber of well known as Tony, he plays for the Rams). I say that because Leonard Little hit a car while driving drunk and killed a mother of 2. No jail time and missed two games. WOW.
  3. I apologize if this has already been posted but this was wrote by a great sports writer (who I worked with at ESPN radio in St. Louis) Bernie Miklasz. I wonder how that response would have went if it was Lou Piniella..........
  4. I am going to start taking my grandmothers approach to baseball. I like Marquis because a) he's not a Cardinal (anymore) and b) he wears his pants and socks old school style. I also met him once in St. Louis and he was pretty cool. As for pitching, I go so far as to say I would have rather seen Prior throw against the Rangers.
  5. My fiance actually went to Nike ID.com and made me some "Cubs" shoes. The reason I say "Cubs" is they dont have rights to the actual logo but he made them the Cubs colors and put the word "Cubbies" on them. They are actually really sweet!!!
  6. I have about had it with this guy. Next they are going to tell us he misplaced his arm. *knocks on wood* no pun intended.
  7. How big of a loss will it be if Ron goes to Dallas???
  8. i love that jersey, i was just looking at those last nite! ugh, just when i promised myself not to bid on anything....must fight the urge. I usually save my money and then go nuts on wrigleyvillesports.com just in time for opening day. I havent been too impressed with "new" stuff I have seen on ebay.
  9. I love casual day Friday. Navy blue and orange it is. My stomach already has butterflies.
  10. Does it make up for it that I have??? About 12 to be exact. (Members of my family count as people).
  11. I'm a little confused by your question-the Bears had the better record overall, the Colts had the better record against the opposing conference, and the better record vs common opponents. Well confused or not you answered the question. Indianapolis.
  12. Anyone else sad that the weather wont be a factor? Geez I wish we would be in Chicago. Say if they had to decide between these two teams, who would get home field advantage, based on wins in the opposite league, where would we be playing???
  13. Without quoting, yes, just like those.
  14. Ok, lets take a poll. How many people stopped reading this thread because your finger hurt after scrolling? Because it stopped making sense to people who want to talk non stat football? Because there is too much quoting???
  15. Ya and we should just leave it at that.
  16. OK, you computer genius's, UPDATE. I just talked to my former boss at the Cardinals because I was curious myself. The guys in the office used my user ID/login info for mlb.tv all the way through the end of the season (I had already paid for a whole season and I quit that job in June of last year). Whats new, is that I myself used MY user ID/login info as well for many of the same games at my home computer WHILE my user ID/login info was being used behind a firewall at a network computer in my old office. So please figure that one out.
  17. You guys do realize that talking stats has nothing to do with the outcome of the game right???? No matter how little or how much you know. Ever hear the phrase "Any given Sunday??" We could play a game of "who knows the most" though. That could be fun. SORRY, I am just frustrated with all the hype. I WANT THE GAME ALREADY.
  18. Last I checked it was one login per IP address. I would be suprised if you are able to login more than one time per game while still logged in on the original IP. When did you check??? I had used my same user id to login to multiple computers (anywhere from 3 to 6 computers were running games with my ONE user id) all the way up to game 5 of the 2006 WS. We did that almost every game.
  19. I have been a subscriber to mlb.tv for 3 years. When I was working for the Cardinals we had no TV's in our office so we just logged on to the computer to watch the game. It was great too, because if there were multiple games on that we were interested in, we could use the same log on information and watch all of them (we had a 6 computer set up for work purposes). I just hope the people at MLB.com didnt figure out to monitor how many times one user is logged on.
  20. Am I the only one who thinks that these comments from anyone of any color is disgusting?? SO ridiculous.
  21. I still cant believe they are going to the Super Bowl. Its been a long time coming and I cant help but think they can pull out a win after getting this far. What a great superbowl. I still can already see how the Bears will be the "worst team" in the superbowl. Meaning they (sports analysts and fans alike) havent given them any respect yet so why would they now??? I am so tired of not hearing about the Bears. Maybe someone will talk about them now HUH??? Oh ya, and I hate to make the point, but this is the second all midwest team championship. World Series was Detroit and Saint Louis, Superbowl is Chicago and Indianapolis. Not bad midwest, not bad. Now if the Cubs could do something................
  22. Who is the projected winner of this game? I would like to say Indianapolis but I have a feeling New England is the favorite. Not a fan of either team really but I do love Peyton Manning's commercials, they crack me up.
  23. For some it might as well be. I read that on the tour the team took, Ryne was talking about how long of a drive it is from Chicago. Its only 3 hours.
  24. As much as I am NOT a fan of the new Busch, I am thankful for 2009 and the fact that I live in Saint Louis. Seems like a long time but you wonder what players will be coming from what team by then.
