This is more of a rant, and could possibly be moved. Last night, between CSI reruns and the trompsing of OSU I found something on TV that made my stomach turn (again if you read my Bears posting). One of the "wonderful" stations here in "baseball heaven" decided that it was an appropriate time to replay the game where McGuire hit #62 against, you guessed it, the CUBS. I was less than bored. There were players such as Sammy Sosa, Delino(?) Desheilds and Ray Lankford on the field (for either team). And in the dugout for the Chicago Cubs, manager (Jim or Dave cant remember his first name) Wiggleman. It made me thankful for where we are and where we could be. It also reminded me of how much I despise Mark McGuire and how could he EVER be compared to Roger Maris (yes, the broadcasters WERE comparing). It was a sad sad evening for me. Until the person controlling the remote (who ofcourse is a Cardinals fan) fell asleep.................. "yes honey you do have to watch the 6 back to back episodes of Friends.............". :) ***EDIT ok did my research, its Jim (I am sure most of you knew that) and its Riggleman(?really, I swear it said Wriggleman) but I just pulled up an archive out of the Chicago Tribune from Sept 1999 and the title was "Just call him Wiggleman"....... Guess I wasn't too far off.
