  1. Scared to ask, but why do you say that?
  2. And to think I LIKED you..........wow.
  3. Hmmmm, guess I havent paid that much attention to the weeks prior to the Super Bowl. Thanks for the info!!!!
  4. This is more of a rant, and could possibly be moved. Last night, between CSI reruns and the trompsing of OSU I found something on TV that made my stomach turn (again if you read my Bears posting). One of the "wonderful" stations here in "baseball heaven" decided that it was an appropriate time to replay the game where McGuire hit #62 against, you guessed it, the CUBS. I was less than bored. There were players such as Sammy Sosa, Delino(?) Desheilds and Ray Lankford on the field (for either team). And in the dugout for the Chicago Cubs, manager (Jim or Dave cant remember his first name) Wiggleman. It made me thankful for where we are and where we could be. It also reminded me of how much I despise Mark McGuire and how could he EVER be compared to Roger Maris (yes, the broadcasters WERE comparing). It was a sad sad evening for me. Until the person controlling the remote (who ofcourse is a Cardinals fan) fell asleep.................. "yes honey you do have to watch the 6 back to back episodes of Friends.............". :) ***EDIT ok did my research, its Jim (I am sure most of you knew that) and its Riggleman(?really, I swear it said Wriggleman) but I just pulled up an archive out of the Chicago Tribune from Sept 1999 and the title was "Just call him Wiggleman"....... Guess I wasn't too far off.
  5. FOR FUTURE REFERENCE: Nor should center fielders who wear eyeliner. **sorry couldnt resist Andi's back!!!!!! Hell ya!!! Thats how I roll!
  6. Anxiously awaiting the passing of our bye week before the Super Bowl... Ok call me crazy for not knowing this but there is ANOTHER bye week before the super bowl? Hey if that is the case, then I am all about it!!!!
  7. FOR FUTURE REFERENCE: Nor should center fielders who wear eyeliner. **sorry couldnt resist
  8. Geez, if we are nervous for Seattle to come to Chicago in the "first round" of playoffs for the Bears where will be in three weeks?? *stomach turns* OK I am a tad bit on the nervous side. I feel a bit like Rex, multiple personalities.
  9. "Right now, we're playing spoilers," Ramirez said Went told how close the Cubs could be to getting first pick in the draft. http://www.jcwhitney.com/wcsstore/jcwhitney/images/imagecache/10024932.gif NO comment from real spoiler. Spoiled my appetite. Spoiled any cards bragging rights I MAY have had. (based on the last series who even remembers the other games against the cards???)
  10. See what living in St Louis does to you??? That and other things.
  11. Lofton, no doubt. I wanted him for this year and I'd like him for next year as well, assuming that Hendry can't pull of a trade for Andruw Jones. I loved LOVED Kenny Lofton!!! I thought Juan was a near perfect match defensively, offensively needed some help. Every year I think Kenny has got to be about done, and then he does really well. I would definately take Kenny back but I like Juan too.
  12. SO apparently I have been gone too long. Here I thought Juan was a hit. If we all had to decide who would you choose Juan Pierre or Kenny Lofton?
  13. I havent been here for a couple days but I am shocked at the reactions of this board. I am thrilled with the addition of Pierre and think with the addition of Bradley we will be a team that can start talking contention again. I absolutely think Pierre will be effective and mesh well with the team. I can also scratch one of my Christmas wishes off the list. Does anyone know how serious the talks are with Bradley? I know I read Dusty and him met the other day and it went really well, but how have they progressed??
  14. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v425/andrapcruz/FederalBuilding.jpg This is the view taken about 5 minutes ago from the Stadium East garage. That building is the Federal Building which you couldnt see a day and a half ago. I would say about 1/4 of the stadium left to go. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v425/andrapcruz/SaturdayFun.jpg There are A LOT of people out here. Lots of cars too. There are about twice as many people on the west side of the stadium.
  15. Other than his acne scars you are so right. He looks way younger than 23. He doesnt act much older than 12 either.
  16. There might already be some there. They did not wash down ANY of the purchased seats. So in a couple months if there is a wierd stench you may suggest getting rid of the crap. I have heard of authentic, but you would think the price that people paid for those they could at least make them sanitary.
  17. I said Cardinals pitcher, NOT UGLY TREE VICTIM. In this case HUGE difference.
  18. I barely get back in the mix and you guys are already making plans to give me the boot. WOW. I swear I didnt know he was a Cardinal pitcher.
  19. Just witnessed four construction workers with HARD HATS AND PROTECTIVE GOGGLES guide a little boy in a Blues jersey and hat to a pile of rubble and let him take a couple pieces. You would think one of them would have let him use their hat and goggles. SCARY. Walked outside and couldnt see 10 feet in front of me. That cant be healthy to breath and get in my eyes. Saw on the west side of the stadium the other day two guys with big signs that said "Save our Busch". Say it out loud and then feel free to laugh. We all did many MANY times. They made the news too!!!! Vehicles crushed to date = 5 Jumbotrons = enough
  20. I heard the comment on a movie. Another term I guess could be "she has big eyes"???? She is a friend of mine that a lot of males look at becuz there is a lot to look at in her chestal region......... are we getting it fellas??????
  21. Why are you the only one who picked up on my hidden agenda?? The new Lafayette's in Soulard. They were back in the VIP room. I actually went on a date with a Cardinal. I had to break it off until he gets traded. ;)
  22. Another large piece of the south east section came down about twenty minutes ago and you still cant see across the street because of all the dust. You cant see what color vehicles are parked in the garage because of the "film" of dust covering them. Hard to breath also.
  23. Well if I had any doubts about this topic belonging here they are gone now. ;) Mulder, while nice to my "big toothed friend" for obvious reasons (IF you know what I mean) was very condesending and rude to the rest of us. Although he did compliment me without knowing it saying "here let me introduce you to some guys who are closer to your age". Mulder turned 27 this year and I will be 27 next month. He was speaking of 22 year old Anthony Reyes and 23 year old Brad Thompson. Thanks Mark!!!!!
  24. This may belong under social but I thought I would attempt to slide it in. Towards the end of the season I met a few Cardinals players at a popular hang out for them. They were all fairly nice (with the exception of Mulder) and talkative with me and my friends. My sister (who also used to post here too) is a huge Grudz fan, and he happened to be one of the players I was talking to. SO, I totally pulled a "that girl" move and asked him to call her and leave her a voicemail on her cell phone (it was about 2 am on a Sunday). He totally agreed, used my cell phone and called her and left about a 2 and a half minute message for her. If anyone here goes to Western Illinois University or knows someone who does, they probably have heard it. I thought that was a pretty cool move from him.
  25. Wow if thats not depressing I dont know what is.
