Now that I think of it more, he probably would be the same type of player Theriot is. There probably isn't much room for him, just saw that article though and thought I would post it.

He'd be worth an NRI. He's a bit redundant with DeRosa, Theriot, and to a lesser extent Cedeno, Fontenot, and Moore. In fact, my personal preference would be to give Fontenot a legitimate chance to win a bench job.

Agreed. Cedeno needs to go back to Iowa.

I'll never forget when BP's 2004 annual compared Harris to Albert Pujols...

That is a real ringing endorsement of BP's forecasting ability.

If I had more time, I'd dig up the quote.

They did:

compare the minor league stats of the two

They did not:

say that Harris was going to be as successful as Pujols

But it's fun to play the hindsight game anyway, I guess.

Clearly, if you're not going to be 100% accurate on every player, then why bother I say.

I wasn't suggesting that they thought Harris would turn into Pujols. If I recall correctly, the quote was, in substance, something like - "If you look at Harris' statisical line at squint real hard, you see striking similarities to Albert Pujols' minor league numbers." They went on to discount expressly any suggestion that Harris would be as good as Pujols and added a comment about how Harris had already earned the reputation as a "redass."

Yep. TT and I were responding to OCF, who hates BP like I hate eating liver.

Time to lock the thread at that comment. :-&
