Seriously, no "don't let the door hit your ass on the way out" talk. No "get off the bandwagon we don't want you anyway" junk. No "You don't support your team!!!" crud.

Someone explain to me in logical terms why we don't get beat in that first playoff game. NY/Dal/Sea: I believe Sea would have the hardest time coming on the road, but please. All these teams are better than the Pack. This game is meaningless, yes. But it was clear the Bears tried to win, clear they can't just turn it on/off like a light switch.

I'm real concerned we're one & done. I don't see how not.

Why don't we? Because the Bears have looked unbelievably good at times this year. They've also looked unbelievably awful. It's hard to say if we'll be 1 and done or not because no one knows what team and quarterback is going to show up.

The problem is that they haven't looked "unbelievably good" in about two months now. All of that awesomeness was in the first 5 weeks and they've been slowly getting less awesome ever since, a lot of it masked by a relatively easy schedule and a really awful division. No, they're not bad...but they're sure as hell not Super Bowl good these days. Not even close.

Oh no, I agree, but I think it's unfair to completely dismiss this team as eliminated already. I'm excited for the playoffs. I think the extra week off will be good, we need to refocus.

I sadly agree 100%, and have felt that way since about the 9th or 10th week. I hope to God I'm wrong, but I have the sickening feeling in my gut I'm not.

I've got tix for that game too. Oh well, I'll make it fun no matter what happens. My first playoff game ever.

Nice. As pissed as I am right now, I'd still love to have those tickets.

I'm moving back to Chicago at the end of January, and it would be really nice if the Bears welcomed me home with a luverly Super Bowl win. SHAPE UP, YE MUTTS, YEZ!

We haven't see those good, dominant Bears since the 2nd half of the Giants game. That was forever ago. Since then, it's been pretty spotty, even in our victories.

How & why would the team from 7 weeks ago suddenly show up instead of the one that's been struggling for many weeks in a row?

How many people thought Rex would be this bad after starting off so good? I mean no one expected him to keep playing like he was, but I bet everyone assumed he wouldn't play as bad as he did at times.

I'll be honest, I'm trying my hardest to stay optimistic, after the 06 Cubs, and the Sun Bowl, I can't handle more disappointment.

You really don't see any scenario in which the Bears win in two weeks? And are you referring to the same Dallas team that lost to Detroit today at home, the same Seattle team that lost three in a row to get the division, including losses to the Cardinals and 49ers, and the same Giants team that lost 6 of their last 7 going into yesterday's game?

I'm hoping against hope they're just hiding some insanely destructive defense to be unleashed on some poor team in the playoffs.

And how does that guarantee losses to teams that were actually playing for something?

I cannot wait, and thanks for the well wishes. This has been a long time coming...I keep telling myself the Cubs have been waiting to start winning again until I could be home to enjoy it.

In my head it sounds awesome and true.

Well.. at least they wont be unprepared going into the playoffs. Loss now and then keeps them in check, right?

 I really wanted a 14-2 season.

Maybe these two weeks it will finally sink in. Because this team is going to hear it, that's for sure. They don't look ready for anything. Houston could probably beat them right now.

Not necessarily guarentee, but definitely make it very unlikely that a win would be anything less than a nasty fight to scrape it out. Which, quite frankly, I'd be fine with.

Favre better enjoy the media attention. He's only got two more farewell tours left.

EDIT: The media better enjoy it, too.

LOL. He's getting sugery tomorrow. He's not retiring. So yeah, this is kind of ridiculous.

I cannot wait for the Chicago/National media gloss over the crap game Griese had (cheap TD aside, I'm sure they all focus on his rustiness) to focus on the trainwreck game Rex had. Edited by USSoccer

Thats what I thought at first, but the way he left the field, it makes you wonder.

Well Griese's QB rating was like 50 points higher :-)

Yeah, my bad...I've been slacking!

Man, it's really childish of me, but the Bears tonight are putting the "no cursing" rule into some reeeeeeeeeeeal motherhubbard frustration.

Oh no...please don't retire Brett.

This team can be a 10 win team next year if Brett stays...

His daughter is my age?

I need to find a way to date and eventually marry into this family.

Once she turns 18, she'll be the same age as me
