I was just looking at the three deals combined:

Wright + Webb + Kouzmanoff for Holliday + Delmon + Weaver

Halladay + Gomes + BJ Upton for Tulo and Verlander

Dunn + Longoria + Ray for Martinez + Ethier

I traded:

Webb, Halladay, Wright, Dunn, Gomes, BJ Upton, Longoria and Kouzmanoff

for:

Victor Martinez, Holliday, Delmon, Ethier, Tulo, Verlander and Weaver

From a straight talent perspective, I'd have to say I came out behind. I traded away two of the top 10 pitchers in the game, an exempt 3B who could be the best exempt player in the league when adjusted for position, an exempt masher coming off an injury who could put up big numbers for Tampa and three great prospects. But there's no way I would have been able to keep even close to all that talent with the cap.

Hopefully you'll come up with three guys better at their positions than Vic, Albert & Bobby!

Oops. Sorry, forgot about the 15 ab's in 2003 and 2004.

Meh, I was hoping you knew something I didn't.

I call for a new rule that less than 20 at bats in a season should not count as an exemption year. :D

FWIW, cbssportsline just had a mock draft for 2007. And though it's a roto league, in a 12-team draft, I have 3 of their first round picks on my team, and 5 of the top 17.

I'm not really against that idea. Let me give that some thought.

Jason Bay could also be had for the right price.

Sorry about making and withdrawing offers. I had to click on Bay to realize he's not exempt in this league.

heh, if he were exempt, he wouldn't be available!

BTW, I'm looking to upgrade my minor leaguers. I have ML experienced exempt players, who will go into 2007 as starters.

Mark Teahan hit .318/.392/.582 after the All-Star break, is a 3B who may also become eligible in the OF if the Royals put Gordon in as their opening day 3B. Only his 2nd season, so still exempt after 2007.

Ryan Shealy .294/.359/.457 in his first 300 ML ABs. Royals opening day 1B, in an improving lineup that should add Gordon, Butler, and the improving Teahan and DeJesus. Projected to hit .300, with 25 HRs and 90 RBIs next year.

Kevin Kouzmanoff likely to be the Padres opening day 3B. Amazing minor league numbers, speak for themselves. 3 HRs in his first 56 ML ABs, 30 HR potential easy. Can be stashed in the minors and not count toward your keepers.

Andy Marte will be the Indians opening day 3B. Hasn't put up great ML numbers, but tons of potential in an explosive offense. Also qualifies as a minor leaguer, though only 1 exemption year left.

Zach Duke 215 IP last year. 3.65 ERA in the 2nd half, with just 24 BBs allowed, showing flashes of after a great rookie season.

Joe Saunders likely spot in the Angels rotation. ERA not spectacular, but won 7 games, with 8 of 12 quality starts, and 1 more 5.2 IP with 0 ERs. K totals were above expected also.

Jonathan Broxton is also available. May be the Dodgers closer as things stand now.

ah, what the hell....if someone makes me a good offer for Crawford, Jenks, Napoli, McCarthy, or even Webb.....I may trade one of them also. I'm open to almost anything.

I've traded Liriano and Estrada to NC for his 4rd and 7th round picks.

--- edited to update

Due to conflicts with other trades, we've reworked this deal to be NC's 3rd and 8th round picks.

anyone want outfield prospects - major league ready? Interested in pitching or middle infield prospects in return.

Anyone who has points and is looking for players.

I have:

Mora

Renteria

Mike Gonzalez

Pedro Martinez (who will be on the cheap this offseason and probably next year as well.)

I'll take draft picks, I'm pretty close on points right now.
