The Blue Jays are desperate for SP after losing out on both Lilly and Meche. I think that they would have at least some interest in Marshall.

 

But don't they already have young OF's waiting in the wings for Wells in case he is traded? I don't think they'd have an interest in Jones.

If you find a platoon partner for Jones I bet you the difference would be very minimal.

Nor would I, but that's the best player we could get from that group of players, I think.

 

Maybe Jennings, but that's overpaying for him as well.

It's time to cut the crap and move out Marshall, Marmol or Mateo for Church.

 

It's also time to get ripped off in a deal for a good SS bat, like Tejada or Bill Hall.

 

Add another power hitter for the bench (Nevin) and another platoon guy for the bench (Loretta? Lofton? Craig Wilson?)

I agree that it would be a bad deal for us, but Wells perceived value around baseball might surprise you.

 

When he rejects the Blue Jays extension attempt, we'll hear about some of the trade offers. It'll take more than Jones, Marshall, Mateo, and Pie to land him.

Looking at your line up, I can't, for the life of me, figure out who Baltimore or Milwaukee ripped us off for Tejada or Hill?

 

Well, I don't see Jones or Izturis, so maybe those two guys and our entire farm?
