Mike MacDougal-R-White Sox Dec. 8 - 4:50 pm et

White Sox agreed to terms with RHP Mike MacDougal on a three-year contract with a club option for 2010

No word on the terms yet, but he better have come at a discount. The White Sox already had MacDougal under control through 2009, and while he's a fine reliever when healthy, he's only put in one full season in the last three. The 29-year-old had a 1.55 ERA in 29 innings last year.

Mike MacDougal's new three-year deal with the White Sox is worth $6.45 million.

Very reasonable. The White Sox weren't going to assume the risk here unless they had the potential to save quite a bit in arbitration. MacDougal will earn $1.5 million in 2007, $1.95 million in 2008 and $2.65 million in 2009. The club holds a $3.75 million option with a $350,000 buyout for 2010, the first year he's eligible for free agency.
