this one was telephoned to me by an extremely reliable source. He also revealed that the Cubs were going to hire Joe Girardi and that the Texans were going to draft Reggie Bush.

lol, can we get a question mark up there?

I hope the Astros do sign CLee. That 12 million he'd get can be used to sign more pitching, get any number of other hitters than him...and try to get ARod.

Murton suits me fine in left. The guy just needs time.

Yes, but having Murton in LF, clogging up the easiest place to get cheap FA offense + power isn't a great thing.

I'd rather have him out of the division, but ok.

Murton for certain!

Agreed. Seems like he always crushes us, especially at Wrigley. Might be my imagination, but I would have liked to see him sign outside the NLC.

$12m for a career OPS under .850 isn't "cheap" if you ask me. Give me Murton.

BTW - post ASG: Lee OPS = .870, Murton = .911 (.925 Aug, .969 Sep). I'll take my chances with Matty, thank you.

can we just sign CLee for the 18 or so games he'll play against the Cubs? Someone phone the Astros...we could give them a million, and maybe Freddie Bynum?

Dunno, could work.

Maybe Hendry could throw a token bid his way in order to drive the Astros price up?

I agree completely. Keep Murton.

Ah, just a rumor. If Hendry wants him, he'll sign with the Cubs. C. Lee has already expressed an interest in returning to Chicago and playing at Wrigley Field. Cub fans, get ready for the 2007 Cubs' version of the Bash Brothers: Carlos and Derrick...da Lee Brothers!
