Jim Hendry to Appear on the Show XM 175

As I was driving between schools, they mentioned Hendry will appear on the Show with Dibble and Kennedy today.

 

Just a heads up for those with XM.

I think a helathy Izturis will be fine for this team, provided some offensive upgrades are made elsewhere.

 

Its hard to speculate what the team will look like, but I'd be more than happy with him at SS hitting 8th. I think if that was his role he could have a successful year.

Its hard to speculate what the team will look like, but I'd be more than happy with him at SS hitting 8th. I think if that was his role he could have a successful year.

 

If they upgrade elsewhere, is the upgrade assumed at 2B? If so, the question becomes Izturis vs. Cedeno? Given contract situations and long-term benefits, I'd go with Cedeno even though Izturis is likely the better short-term fix. Of course, Piniella will look short-term especially in his 1st year.

I would think Lou would play Izturis over Cedeno, either at SS or 2b. Your right, I get the feeling from the top down the Cubs organization is thinking short-term.

I wish. I am just saying if you are going to compare Ramirez+ARod to ARod+Izturis, you have to consider who the Cubs get for Ramirez (the discussion implied trading Ramirez - a concept that I think is unrealistic).
