Or should I have asked what should next years payroll be?

I am assuming Rusch will retire and the Cubs will end up sinking his money right into Ramirez's new deal. Last years payroll was 94 million. I am hoping it will be raised 100 million. 110 would be ideal. I know large payrolls doesn't always equal results but it's easier to win when you can spend to get the talent you need to win.

Well, personally I think both Aramis and Pierre are gone. The rumor going 'round is that Aramis is going to break his verbal commitment to Hendry and test the FA market. Pierre is lukewarm on Chicago after all the poor treatment Jones and Baker got.

 

I think we end up rebuilding, even though Hendry thinks we can contend next year. No way we contend in '07 without Aramis.

I heard it from my friend (in the RF bleachers today) during the game via phone (I was stuck at home, grrrr). I guess it's on BCB too.

 

It's just a RUMOR as far as I know. He was just talking about it with some dudes who sat next to him. Supposedly they knew some front office people. How credible that is, I don't know.

 

I have no idea what BCB's source(s) are. It could be just talk that went around the bleachers today. I certainly freakin' hope so.
