I just put together my annual spreadsheet for planning my keeper roster. I should be in pretty good shape, though I'm going to be jettisoning a lot of talent. At this point, I've got my 10 roster spots planned and come out to 1920 points (though that will increase the next couple weeks). If I had to decide today, I'd be keeping six points-exempt guys, an entire infield (minus catcher), three OF's and a whole starting rotation.

Either Dunn or Abreu will end up in the draft. Hall, Bonds, Lopez, Ensberg, Estrada, Sheffield & DeJesus will off my offense, as well. From my staff, I have to decide which is the odd man out between Webb, Halladay & Oswalt. Then Escobar and all my relievers are toast. All these guys are available for trade, of course.

If Garza gets 4 more starts, I'm screwed out of another player, though.

How's everyone else looking?

Other than waiting until a decision is made on CFers for next year, I'm pretty comfortable with Bonderman, Wang, Verlander, Cain, Baldelli, Johjima, Rolen, Uggla, Rollins and one of Frank Thomas, Ken Griffey, Mike Cameron, Ervin Santana, Joe Blanton or Adam Wainright.

I'm sure trades will definitely be forthcoming. I have plenty of cap room to take on a stud or two. With Tulowitzki poised to take over at SS in Colorado and Rollins putting up a pretty solid year, I'll definitely be ready to do a little shopping this offseason.

If CF becomes a position for 2007, I may keep Baldelli, Griffey and Cameron.

At this point, I have 3 players who are NOT exempt. I have a full OF of potential 500 pt scores once again. I could have a full IF. And the game's best SP and a top closer.

I have a few exempt players who I won't be able to keep in Saunders, Duke, McCarthy, and Shealy who could all be studs next year.

cf will not be a position. that is something we will implement after a couple years of planning - not in one offseason.

we will go to 3 of and 2 utility and we will limit to 7 starts per week. I am contemplating allowing teams to rollover up to 2 starts.

Didn't Juan set the cap at 2250?

If so, as of now my keepers are Smoltz, Millwood, J.Johnson, Rios, Zimmerman, Beltran, Kendrick, Mauer, and KRod. Right now the point total for the nine keepers is 2020. So my tenth will have to be from the following exempt players; Granderson, Hermida, Tracy, or Saito.

BTW - I would be very interested in trading one of these exempt players for a draft pick. The pick would not have to be a first rounder, unless you really want to do so.

These players are not point exempt, but are available.; Lopez, Gonzalez, Reed Johnson, Randy Johnson, Suppan, Cordero, Glavine, and Contreras.

I've decided unless I am wowed by an offer, I have 6 definites. Santana, Sizemore (can't even be wowed for him), Holliday, Kinsler, Morneau and Crawford.

Napoli is very likely, as is Weaver. Barring trades, the last 2 spots are gonna come down to Shealy (unless he doesn't get 10 ABs this last week), Teahan, Jenks, Saunders, McCarthy, and Duke.

IF anyone has an open spot for an exempt player, I am very willing to make a 2 for 1 trade. I'll take on points too.
