the Royals got a hit...

BTW - Smoltz was rained out yesterday. That may end up costing him his second start of the week. Can Imake up that start by having someone else pitch?

someone else needs to rule on that. I don't think we have normally made allotments for rainouts. also, with the offday tomorrow, was smoltz even going to start sunday?

yea, I never dreamed holliday would be that good.

I went to a fantasy advise message board and was told to do it because I was getting the best SP in the game, but that Holliday was a platoon player who couldn't hit on the road.

Actually this may be a moot question. CBS still has Smolz for Sunday on its list of probable starters.

BTW - I tend to lean towards no. Acts of God are not covered. A loss of a start due to injury is. But... Anyone else care to chime in.

My understanding was that lost starts due to injury, being moved to the bullpen, or being sent to the minors could be replaced, but not rainouts.

the lineup mess was only because I hadn't approved his drops yet.

interesting day today Al . . .

I thought I had this one wrapped up, but now it is anybodys game. Hopefully Millwood gets a win.

All those points sitting on my bench

who's on your bench? Millwood can't get a win at this point and Hudson just lost three earned runs to give him a QS. unfortunately jenks just blew garcia's win but it looks like a triple digit will put me ahead going into the weekend. I wonder if Hafner will ever play again?

Notice that we are both pummeling the other four playoff teams . . .

Contraras and Glavine both decided to pitch well after weeks of ineptitude.

Btw - I am still ahead although by the slimmest of margins.

those that are in it can still add/drop correct?

also, if a guy gets shut down for the year due to injury (but is not placed on the DL b/c of expanded rosters), can we still put them on our DL? this may be the case with papelbon.

I told my boys to take it easy this week and rest up for the playoffs.

yea, that's fine. I was going to post as much but I figured this group could work that out.

Getting your rotation lined up, eh Tim? Winning the division is a pretty good reward.

Yeah, the playoffs are pretty well a crapshoot here. So your chances to win the whole thing basically double from 1/8 to 1/4.

stupid indians . . . couldn't they have figured this out faster? Doesn't really matter since I'm screwed without Pronk either way.

wow, what a reversal in two days - still I can't help but feel like when the cubs came back to beat LA after Lee broke his wrist.

i'm glad dontrelle is getting that three hit shutout (and 30+ point start) out of his system this week...

i was hoping this week would allow papelbon, schilling and clemens to get healthy, but it doesn't look like it's gonna happen.

Mussina and Cabrera get 2 starts this week, though they are at the bottom of the list of who I'd hope get 3 starts. A-Rod will play 8 games if he can stop getting sick.

Both clubs get 7 starts. It should be pretty close.

The party's over.

Well, my goal at the season's start was to make the play-offs. I acheived that.

Good luck Juan. I hope to say that I lost to the team that won it all.

Just wait until next year.

Ack. I get just five starts next week -- with two huge caveats.

Liriano will be on a pitch count coming off the DL.

Halladay went just 12 pitches today and came out of the game after getting hit on the elbow with a line drive. He's questionable for his next start.

Meanwhile, Garza and Billingsley are both out of the rotation at this point, so I've got nobody to spot in unless I want to start dropping players.

Looking at Juan's lineup for next week, it seems as though we'll be somewhat straight up on starts at five each. However, I've got the two big caveats and Juan might get an extra start from Sowers as his fifth day would be on Sunday.

that is something of a relief though I am also missing my best hitter. when I get pitching points like I did this week, I'm tough to beat. funny how quakers and I scored so much more than everyone else this week.

Quakers only outscored me by 10. You're really the only one that had a good week.
