I hope we lose every game from here on out. I'm serious.

Might as well go for the high draft pick. What else is there to play for?

can someone fill me in who knows alot by amautuer baseball.

Lets say we are picking top 3...is there a saviour out there?

An Arod? A Joe Mauer? A Johan Santana?

or are we pretty much F'ed.

Yes, we are F'ed because we have become fans to this pathetic franchise. It hurts.

Curse my Dad for taking me to Cubs games when I was 5.

This team is a drug. They are bad for you..yet you can't stay away.

They will play good for a week, month, or even now and then have a fluke season to strengthen that addiction.

But in the end..it leads to dissaster.

Just drink more. Works for me!

It's a good thing that MLB archives the audio for all of the games, I've got to to listen to Pat & Ron's call of the bottom 11th. I get the feel that just reading the game account doesn't do justice to the absurdity of it all.

By the way, I've come to the realization last night that Dusty will not finish the season. I get the feeling that Dust and Hendry will have a meeting in which Dusty admits in effect that he "can't take it anymore" and he and Jimbo will come to a mutual conclusion to cut the cord. Of course, they'll use as much spin as possible when they announce it, but I truly do believe he'll be gone and the Cubs will finish the season with an interim manager.

I highly doubt it. So many crazy things and futile events have happened this year and not one single person has been fired. I mean come on, Clines, Sarge, and Baker are still here which I find the most ridiculous thing possible.

There's 29 game left. What's the point? Just finish out this disaster.

Except it wouldn't be a firing, it would be one of those ambiguously worded "agreed to resignations." Trust me, I can hear the spin out of Hendry's mouth already.

How in the hell have all these guys kept their jobs?

I don't know if you'd want an interim manager from within the organization at this point. If the team miraculously finished 20-7, then you've backed yourself into a corner and you're almost forced to give the guy a new 2-3 year deal because of one flukey month.

As of now (and this definitely will change by next June), the top 3 prospects look like LHP David Price (Vanderbilt), RHP Matt Harvey (high school) and C Matt Wieters (Georgia Tech).

Do any of those players you just mentioned go by the title "Messiah"

The pitchers look real good, especially the HS ones. There's gonna be a future few aces there - the draft certainly will be better than this years.

I'd take Price if he can perform at the level another Vanderbilt product is pitching at right now.

Think it's safe to say that Dempster had a fluke year last year.

He has been god awful all season long this year. Blowing two leads in a row against the freaking Pirates is a JOKE.

Nice to see Theriot have 1/4 of the team's hits. Too bad he'll be right back on the bench on Friday :x

Yeah, the next Roy Oswalt sounds good to me. :)

Roy Oswalt didn't go to Vanderbilt?

That's a great question, too bad Hendry is the only one with that answer.
