Looks like Patterson's hit streak is going to end. His last time up (unless the I-Cubs blow the lead or this inning is HUGE) in the bottom of the 8th, and he...walks. Edited by Warpticon

Iowa up 3-2 in the top of the 9th. Jerome William was solid: 7 IP, 2 ER, 5 H, 5 K/1 BB.

Felix Pie: 1/3, run, double, BB

EPatt 0/3, run, BB, K

Scott Moore with his 22nd HR in the 4th inning, but the Jaxx are losing 2-1. Chris Shaver: 6 IP, 2 ER, 6 H, 3 K/3 BB.

Pretty good night for the top prospects thus far.

Veal with another solid outing.

Pie with a double and walk.

Moore with another HR.

EPatt draws a walk at least while his AAA hitting streak ends.

Heck, even Ryan Harvey drew a walk, his 8th this month.

Iowa wins 3-2.

West Tenn loses 2-1. :(

Elvin Puello doubles in Steve Clevenger who had doubled and Boise jumps ahead 1-0. Mario Mercedes follows with an RBI bloop single (aided by the OF struggling to find it due to the lights) to score Puello. Boise now up 2-0 in the middle of the 4th.

Mesa is down 5-0. Julio Castillo started and gave up the 5 runs in 2 IP (only 2 were earned). Greibal Cuvas-Novas is in now in relief.

Huntsville and Chattanooga both keep winning (five in a row for both of them), so Huntsville leads both Chattanooga and Tennessee by 2.5 games. Jaxx are 7.5 out. We need to root for Chattanooga to make up the ground and overtake Huntsville to win both halves.

Moore with 22 HRs now. :D I don't hear much talk or hype about him on the board, despite putting up solid back to back seasons.

Is he old for his league or a butcher at 3b? He hits for decent avg., takes a walk every once in awhile and has plenty of power to play the hot corner. His numbers over the last two seasons seem to indicate that Hendry may have actually gotten some value out of the Farnsworth trade.

2006

.278/.358/.848 22HR 73 RBI

2005

.281/.358/.843 20 HR 82 RBI

How does he project?

Age-wise, he's fine for AA (currently 22). The question everyone has is whether or not Moore can stick at 3B. While a number of people (including Former Daytona broadcaster Bo Fulginiti and current West Tenn broadcaster Ron Potesta) say that he actually is much better than people give him credit for, Moore has a number of errors on the season that are cause for some concern.

If he can stick at the hot corner and keep those errors to a minimum, no doubt he'll be a fine 3B in the majors given his power and patience. However, if he has to move to 1B or the OF, his value drops significantly.

He'll likely make almost all Cubs prospect top 10 lists this season. He's arguably the third best position prospect in the organization behind Felix Pie and Eric Patterson.

Personally, I'd rate Moore ahead of Patterson.

Hence the arguably part. :P

Des Moines Register[/url]"]"We talked about (Friday) night when we got behind early," Quade said. "We need our starter to set the tone. This was probably Jerome's best outing with me. When every game is huge, to pitch as well as he did was huge. He did a great job."
