Pie leads off the 9th (4-4 tie) with a 4-pitch walk.

So make that 1.014.

EPatt with a bunt single to set the table for Restovich.

Woo, Iowa's playoff hopes are still alive!

In Spokane, Ceda's night is over. He gives up a leadoff single and is lifted. Alfredo Francisco is coming in to the game. His line as of now is: 4+ IP, 3 ER, 3 H, 1 HBP, 1 BB, 4 K.

Russ Canzler is 1 HR shy of tying the all-time Boise HR record (15 by Todd Greene in 1993).

Boise leads it 7-3 in the bottom of the 5th.

Meh, Francisco lets the inherited runner score (and lets another two in himself).

Jose Ceda's final line: 4+ IP, 4 ER, 3 H, 1 BB, 1 HBP, 4 K, 1 HR.

Ceda was definitely tiring at the end of the 4th inning and into the 5th inning. He was leaving pitches up, etc. The 4 inning outing is tied for his longest outing of the season.

Boise is clinging to a 7-6 lead after 5.

Tyler Colvin triples to RF in the 6th - Spokane RF Wally Backman, Jr. crashed into the wall at an awkward angle going for the ball and hurts his leg. He ends up walking off the field with a big limp, but on his own power.

Colvin is 3 for 4 on the night.

Is Ceda a max-eff guy? Or does he just need to lengthen out? Anyone know this? His next start should be at home, so I guess I can find out myself.

He could be a max-effort guy, but given his IP so far this season, I think he needs to lengthen out.

Boise wins it 8-7 in 9. Elvin Puello singled and scored on an E-5 (throwing error) on a grounder off the bat of Steve Clevenger.

West Tenn loses 6-5. They're now 4.5 out of first place.
The Southern League web page actually shows them 5.5 games out. :(

I think their best shot now is if Chattanooga wins both halves (they're now 2.5 games out), then the Jaxx would get in as a result of having the next best record over the entire season.

Anyone know if Ryan Harvey was removed from the game as a result of his previous injury flaring up or a new injury due to being hit by a pitch?

I've got some pictures from the IA game last night that I'll try to put up if they are any good. From the screen on my camera I think I have a pretty good one of Pie's laser HR to center. Pie looked good at the plate and in the field last night making some nice running catches in center. He definitely has the fire and competitiveness in him, you could see it in the way he was playing last night; he's going to be special. EP looks like he has a clue at the plate and is able to recognize a pitch which is a good sign. I didn't see much out of him on the field. There was a ball hit to him in which he had to dive for but didn't come up with the ball cleanly. Other than that it was a fun game, and good to see IA come back.
