It's a place for Cubs fans to congregate and discuss whats going on in the game with each other. I guess its for people who are watching alone, or with people who aren't as knowledgeable in baseball. Sometimes people provide updates, but obviously updates are always updated on other sites like espn.com

A lot of people don't have access to the radio or TV broadcasts so they follow the game in this thread. Great people like Fred post play by play and such. It's also a chance to mingle with fellow posters during games. Welcome to the board, by the way.
