The Hamburg goal vs Fulham was just nasty. Curving freekick to the top corner from about 25 yards out. Aquilani with a nice goal to put Liverpool up 1-0.

I don't want to jinx Fulham, but they almost seem like a team of destany.

Fulham are through. Kind of interesting to knock off a favorite and then go play the final in that team's house.

Dempsey won't miss the final cause of the yellow card today will he?

Klinsmann will be working ESPN too for the WC. More of him and less of Lalas would be a nice thing.

He's a homer, but there's something about Alexei that I like.

Not sure what the yellow card accumulation rule in the europa league is.

Nope, he wasn't in any danger going in.

go liverpool this weekend.

sunderland tied man u at old trafford earlier this day so three points are far from guaranteed for man u this weekend. chelski won't drop any points against wigan at home with the title on the line (though wigan somehow won 3-1 earlier this year) so i think man u's chances of winning basically rest on liverpool taking at least a point from chelski while man u wins out.

good for fulham. i will be rooting for them in the final.

Yeah, this weekend will decide the title. I think both Man U and Chelsea win at home next weekend so if Chelsea wins beats Liverpool, the title is basically theirs.

Its tough to root for your team to lose, but I would much rather Chelsea win the title over United. So I wont be all that upset if Liverpool lose. They should be able to get a point out of Hull that last week to stay ahead of Everton for the final Europa league spot so a loss wouldnt hurt them that much.

Picking between those two is like asking me which nut I want to be kicked in. Guess I will go with Chelsea to win it.

Dowie kills Jozy's training work ethic:

Dowie said: "The fans have been fantastic, given him great support and probably he hasn't fulfilled his potential here. He's got one goal and for the level of investment it's probably not enough.

"I've spoken to Jozy a number of times since I've been here and, if Jozy can train the way he plays, I think he's got a great opportunity but he needs to understand that it's that day in, day out.

"He's a lovely, laid-back boy and there's no side to him but he needs to focus on training at a better level. Kevin Kilbane keeps turning it out because he trains at that level, Nicky Barmby can keep playing because he trains at that level.

"It's a different level than Jozy's used to training at and he's got to get used to it. He found the physicality of the Premier League very hard when he came in. He's got used to that now but he must not get comfortable.

"You've got to stretch yourself every day in training. I said that to him and wished him all the best for the World Cup. I wouldn't be surprised if he had a good World Cup.

"He's got the right attributes if he can play to his strengths, and that is turning defenders and running at goal. He's a monster of an athlete but he's got to use that physicality, it's about imposing that.

"I've always felt the best part of a player's make-up is the two yards in his head. The (Teddy) Sheringhams, the (Alan) Shearers, the (Paul) Scholes, the (Ryan) Giggs, the (Wayne) Rooneys are two yards ahead of you in their head.

"Their football intelligence is bright and I think that's also something probably Jozy needs to work on."

Players on our squad not named Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey, Steve Cherundolo, Carlos Bocanegra and Michael Bradley tend to be tactically [expletive] due to the sometimes astounding lack of understanding of the game in MLS. Speed, strength, hustle and enthusiasm MLS has. Organized tactics in the build up? Nope. Hopefully Jozy can learn unlike Adu, Johnson etc.

Buddle with two goals and helper.

Screw it. Just call him up.

Some absolutely crazy rumors around about Herculez Gomez and potential European suitors. Can't wait for the transfer window to open to see where he goes.

At this point, I'm with you on Buddle. Let him play in the send off games and see how it translates.

BTW, Wolfie, since United are not going to finish 5th, I owe you an Objectivo Shirt.

So let me get this straight ... Liverpool fans hate Man U so much that they would rather Man U not win than Liverpool win?

Liverpool fans hate everyone, but they especially hate United.

Put it this way if on the last day of the season the Cubs had nothing to play for, but a win would help keep the Cards from winning the division would you be upset if the Cubs lost. I was not rooting for a loss, but I am not upset by it either.
