Does anyone know who was removed from the 40-man roster to make room for O'Malley today?

 

They were at 39.

 

Ok, thank you. I remember there were 39, but I thought that Mateo was #40 when he got called up.

Eyre went on the 15 day DL

 

Eyre's still on the 40-man when he's on the 15-day DL.

 

yeah, that's right. That was the announcement they made on the pregame, but I guess it didn't sink in.

There was actually an article in Baseball Prospectus today that questioned the Astros plate discipline.

 

It's really weird to see the Cubs leading in that department, even for one game.

The Astros have looked eerily like the Cubs in that department. Murton had by far the best plate appearances last night. No surprise there.
