It's something about the notice that MLB requires before introducing a new mascot. Apparently you can't add a mascot just on a whim, so they supposedly sent him down to the minors for some work (at least that was the Brewers explanation on it), and they will bring him back at the start of next season.

 

Call me crazy...but I've been thinking that the Cubs should start to embrace the whole curse and everything....and adopt a Goat as a mascot. Seriously, who wouldn't laugh at a goat walking around on the top of the dugout inciting the wave?

OK, this thread isn't helping...I ended up watching an episode of The Wire shortly after Z gave up the first 2-run homer. How the hell did the Cubs even score? Why is Z already out?

I work designing MLB ornaments. The approval process is absolutely brutal. It's literally months longer than any other license. Real nice people working there though.

This is why Baker is paid the big bucks. You take out a hot hitter and leave in a 4-3 in CF. We all know that Pierre can pop one out to tie the game at any time unlike Murton who couldn't hit one out to save his life.

I think he likes Chicago. He probably liked it more when Alou & Sosa were here and when people weren't griping about him as much in the papers and on the radio. Rozner rips him a new one every time I hear him.

 

But I'm sure he's hearing that he can make scads of money in free agency. And I'm sure that other cities might be attractive as well.

 

I don't see how Hendry can possibly replace what would be lost if Aramis walks, given all the other holes. But that's part of the problem ... even with Aramis, I don't have much faith in the Cubs putting together a winning team next year, even in a bad NL. So why should Aramis hang around hoping that the organization can get its act together?

Bush almost clocks Z in his first AB, AND hits both Aramis and Barrett? Come on...

 

Z was seriously tweeked, and he wasn't hiding it. I'd be pissed too if my catcher screwed up that bad, but he's gotta move on with those things and focus. Barrett may have gotten the guy on base, but Z gave up the HR.
